Round or Square Diamond Drills? With Gems Diamond Art Diamond Paintings, you have a choice between round or square diamond drills with some of our Diamond Painting kits. Each type of drill has different qualities and appearance. The round drills are dome shaped with a faceted face. When they are placed on the gridded canvas, the corners of each square grid around the diamond drill are exposed, showing the background color of the rendered image between each placed round drill. Square drills are shaped like a flattened pyramid with a faceted face. Unlike the round drills, the square drills fit tightly edge to edge, exposing none of the canvas. The round drills will require the Diamond Painter to use a straight edge to keep the lines straight, where the square drills are more easily aligned since they fit edge to edge. Both types of drills create beautiful Diamond Paintings, it is simply a matter of personal preference of which type of drill appeals to the Diamond Painter. So why not try both types from Gems Diamond Art and see which type you prefer?

What are Specialty Diamond DrillsSpecialty Diamond Drills come in different types: Aurora Borealis Diamonds, also known as AB, are faceted diamond drills coated with a film that mimics the glow of the Northern Lights. These create a distinct sparkle in the Diamond Art and enhance the image. Glow in the Dark Diamonds are just what they sound like. They are drills that have an iridescent material that absorbs light and emits it in the dark. These add a glowing effect to the Diamond Art in low light that alters the look of the artwork. Electro Diamonds are drills that are coated in a metallic finish that is more reflective and can make the Diamond art shine. Iridescent Diamonds are coated with an opalescent finish that glows with various colors and adds a shimmering effect to the Diamond Artwork that will reflect light in different colors as it catches the light from different angles. Fairy Dust Diamonds are just what they sound like. They are made in such a way that they scintillate and add a sparkle to your Diamond Art.

What if I run out of Diamond Drills in my kit? When we produce a Diamond Art kit, the Diamond drills are weighed and packaged depending on the number needed of each color. An adjustment is made to overcount the Diamond drills package with each kit to allow for any discrepancy or spillage by the customer. If at any time you find that you are short of a particular color or type of Diamond drill, contact our customer service for assistance.

Why can't I choose a different size of image or type of drill used. When our company renders an artistic image into a Diamond Painting, care is taken by the designer to accurately reflect the artwork and adjust the size to get the best rendering possible. Due to the size of the Diamond drills, certain pieces of art work better in a larger or smaller size depending on the level of detail. Some images work better in round drills or square ones. Some images need to include certain specialty drills and some don't - it all depends on the original artwork. Our designers try several different image sizes and combinations of Diamond drills to come up with the very best rendering to give the customer the best Diamond Painting possible.

Does Gems Diamond Art sell custom Diamond Art paintings? At the present time, Gems Diamond Art doesn't produce custom Diamond Art Paintings.

Hand-rendered or automated? All of our Diamond Art Kits are hand rendered by a Designer with the assistance of a computer. Automated software for Diamond Art Rendering lacks the panache of hand-rendering. Sometimes, the best way is the old way.
